Abigail Marie Clancy Bio
Abigail Marie Clancy is an English lingerie, catwalk and television model from England. In 2006, she was the second-place winner of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) and in 2013, she won the series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing. She has been Britain's Next Top Model presenter since 2015. Clancy was the youngest of the four kids born to Karen (nee Sullivan), and Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was raised in Woolton in a suburb close to Liverpool. She was a student at St Mary's Catholic Primary School as well as St Julie's Catholic High. Clancy formed the girl band Genie Queen and was managed by Andy McCluskey, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was among the 13 finalist on Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model, which included her competing for 10 weeks for a contract as a model. Clancy was joined by Lianna Fowler on the final runway show and became the runner-up. Clancy was featured on Britain's Next Top Model and has since been modelled by a variety of newspapers and magazines. Clancy modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike and was on the cover for Arena magazine in May 2007. Clancy was chosen to be included in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue 2010. Clancy was selected due to her connection to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, which made it appear like she was wearing the England shirt. Clancy was featured in a campaign by Umbro sportswear, modelling an England shirt, along with other wives of footballers and girlfriends from nations who been crowned winners of the World Cup. Clancy walked in Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, she was part of London designer Hasan Hejazi's campaign. The campaign included a fashion editorial from Absynth Photographic as well as an upcoming fashion film produced by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on August's UK Esquire cover, photographed by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was also featured in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar along with Suki waterhouse and Cara delevingne. Clancy made her debut on the cover of British Marie Claire's July 2014 issue and British Elle's March 2015. In October 2019, Abbey Clancy and her daughter Sophia Crouch collaborated with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand to launch the brand's AW'19 collection. The AW19 collection was launched by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi in January of 2020.
